Consumers
Privacy & your data
Is it really anonymous?
The merchant sees only an age claim from your wallet — not your identity, name, email, or phone. We can't make promises about your device or network, but aithne.online collects nothing.
What data does the site store?
None. No accounts, no forms, no trackers. There is nothing to store.
Can merchants see my name?
No. They receive only the age attestation claim you approve. Your identity never leaves the wallet.
What if I don't have a wallet yet?
Install the Aithne Wallet from the app store, then get an age attestation issued into it by an AAP. After that, you can approve claims wherever they're asked.
Merchants
What data does Aithne store?
None. No name, email, phone, address, or payment details are collected, stored, or logged by aithne.online or the PPIL integration. Attestations are receipt-based; you keep merchant-signed verification records.
Can verified users skip the dialog on return visits?
Yes — a merchant-signed verification in the session short-circuits the age gate, with no repeat dialog for verified users.
How are license keys managed?
Keys are environment-only (avp-api-key-aithne). They are never committed, logged, or shared. Rotate them like any secret.
Terms & terminology
What are PIC, AVP, AAP, and PPIL?
Short for the pieces that make this work — see the glossary for plain-language definitions.
How does compliance work for age-restricted sales?
Aithne is attestation-based: you verify an age claim from the user's wallet, with auditable receipts and no PII inventory to breach. Requirements vary by market — verify obligations with legal counsel.
